Internationally recognised certificate from American Heart Association.

Hands-on practice DVD based training in various first aid skills such as:
Finding the problem, stop bleeding, bandaging & using an Epinephrine pen in case of severe allergic reaction
Child and Infant CPR,
Choking as well as asthma care
Correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Who can benefit


The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR & AED course is intended for educators, child care providers and others persons working with children to respond to and manage illness and injuries in a child or infant in the first minutes until medical help arrives.

Training material


 Learners receive a 126 page full colour Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR & AED student workbook to review before, during and after the course.
Pocket size reminder cards are included with the workbook, displaying the correct steps for child and infant CPR including the use of an AED
(Automated External Defibrillator).

Learner pre-requisites


 The participants do not need to have previous Pediatric First Aid or CPR training. This course is widely recommended as Pediatric First Aid and CPR is an essential life skill. However the participants should have carefully read through the manual prior to the day of training.

Certification

An American Heart Association card is issued on successful completion of the course. It is valid for 2 years.

CPD points

This course earns 7 CPD points. Continuing Professional Development points are according to the Health Professionals Council of South Africa.
